P6 Review Summary

Cellucor is the company behind the P6 Xtreme testosterone support product.  They have been accredited by the BBB since 2010, and they offer a whole host of bodybuilding and workout supplements including BCAA, pre-workout, post-workout, weight loss, endurance, testosterone boosters, etc.

Cellucor’s P6 product claims to do several things:

  • Increase your body’s own production of testosterone
  • Build strength & lean muscle mass
  • Increase libido and sex drive
  • Boost your energy
  • Improve your mental focus and mood

They also claim to slow the effects of aging and inhibit the production of estrogen within the male body. This  product was designed to help the aging man regain his youth and vitality, through the use of their proprietary blend of different herbs and complexes.

Cellucor claims that this proprietary blend of herbs and complexes will increase testosterone, inhibit or regulate the production of estrogen, and reduce DHT conversion.

Does P6 really deliver the goods?

Check out our review below to find out.

PROS:

  • Likely to experience some level of increase in energy
  • Likely to experience some level of increase in libido
  • Includes nine different ingredients rather than just one or two

CONS:

  • Proprietary blend doesn’t provide dosage levels for each individual ingredient
  • Missing many of the most powerful and proven testosterone boosting ingredients
  • Few proven test boosting ingredients and no provided dosage levels
  • Average product reviewer and customer feedback at best
  • Extremely expensive at $169.99 for a one-month supply

BOTTOM LINE:

This product is billed primarily as a testosterone booster. Due to the fact that the testosterone boosting ingredients are considered weak and unproven combined with the fact that none of the dosage levels of any individual ingredients are listed, make this a below average test booster.

The price for this product is astronomical ($169.99) compared to the best testosterone boosters on the market that are roughly 1/3 the price AND they include the best and scientifically proven ingredients with all the dosage levels to go along with them.

Product reviews and customer feedback were either mostly average or below average.

In our opinion, Cellucor P6 Extreme is not one of the top products to consider if you are trying to raise your testosterone levels. In fact, we think it is one of the weaker products out there to choose from – especially for that price!

When considering taking a supplement like this, it is very important to know what it is you  are putting into your body and how much of it there is. By being so vague on the dosages, Cellucor is leaving the customer in the dark, where they have to basically guess and hope for the best.

Take the time and research some of the other alternatives out there. If you are truly looking for dramatic results, this isn’t the product for you.

There are much better testosterone boosters on the market for much cheaper.

P6 Ingredients

P6 ingredients

The nine ingredients in this product are all included in a 2600mg proprietary blend called P6 Xtreme Blend.

By way of comparison, the previous generation product also had nine ingredients (some the same and some different), but only had a cumulative ingredients total of 1200mg.

The new generation product has some new ingredients like Adaptest Ashwagandha, AlphaSize A-GPC, LJ100, Saw Palmetto, to name the most prominent stand outs.

Cellucor touts the main testosterone boosting ingredients as Adaptest Ashwagandha, Tribulus Alatus, and Ovine (Sheep) Placenta Powder.  Unfortunately, only Ashwagandha has full scientific backing as a known and proven testosterone booster.

Tribulus is a common test booster ingredient, but the scientific truth is that there is no evidence that supports that it increases testosterone. There is evidence that it’s a nice libido enhancer though. This makes it a complementary ingredient to add to a formulation but not because it does any testosterone boosting.

Saw Palmetto and Stinging Nettle Root are known to help block the formation of DHT.

Agaricus Bisporus (white button mushroom) has been shown to reduce enzymes that increase estrogen levels.

Zembrin and AlphaSize (A-GPC) have been shown to help improve focus and cognitive function, but without knowing dosage levels, it’s impossible to accurately determine the effectiveness. No known test boosting properties.

Two Major Problems With P6

The most significant issue we have with this product has to do with the fact that all the ingredients are lumped into a “proprietary blend” where NONE of the individual ingredient dosages are listed.

Let’s assume that all the ingredients are well studied and proven to do exactly what they are supposed to do.  If you don’t know the individual ingredient dosages then how can you determine if they’re effective or not?

It doesn’t matter how good the ingredient is if it’s under-dosed.  Dosages are one of the most important factors in evaluating the effectiveness of an ingredient.

Other supplements with proprietary blends that have been reviewed here have gotten the same complaint and feedback.

We as consumers have the right to know how much of each ingredient we are getting in a product – especially if you’re going to ingest the product.

As a product reviewer, it’s near impossible to accurately determine how effective a product is without knowing all the ingredient dosages.

Our secondary problem with P6 Xtreme is that for a product that is classified as a testosterone booster, the ingredients chosen for boosting testosterone are weak at best. None of the ingredients have been extensively studied and proven to boost testosterone. There are plenty of other proven ingredients that could have been included to make this a bonafide testosterone booster.

Assuming at a minimum that there’s at least an adequate dose of individual ingredients, you will likely experience some boost in libido & energy as well as some level of improvement in mood & mental focus, but as far as testosterone levels, not so much.

How Much Does P6 Extreme Cost?

P6 Xtreme comes with a very hefty price tag of $169.99 for a one-month supply.

Where To Buy P6 Xtreme?

You can buy P6 Xtreme on the Cellucor website.  If you’re a GNC member, you can buy it on their website as well for $159.99 for a one-month supply.

Be careful about trying to buy this product on Amazon.  There are numerous fake or look alike products that are being sold.

Directions For Use

Take 2 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules in the evening for a total of 4 capsules per day.

What About Side Effects?

This is a supplement made of all natural ingredients, so there are no significant side effects to worry about as if you were going through testosterone replacement therapy. As with any supplement, you need to take the product as directed, and if you do, you should experience no negative side effects.

What Kind Of Reviews and Customer Feedback Did P6 Xtreme Get?

Product reviewer feedback was pretty consistent across the board.  Most reviewers were frustrated with the ingredients and the lack of dosage levels for  the individual ingredients.  This product was usually rated as average or below average in just about every review I analyzed.

Finding actual customer or user feedback was harder to find, but when we did, the feedback was generally that this was a below average product for a testosterone booster. Some said they noticed a bit of a boost in libido and energy, but that was about it.

Cellucor P6 Verdict

Simply put, there’s just not enough testosterone boosting power in this product.

There’s very few ingredients that have been proven to boost testosterone, and with the couple that are included, there are no dosage levels to go with them, so you have no idea how effective they would be.

Also, all the powerhouse test boosting ingredients are missing.

No D-Aspartic Acid, no Vitamin D3, No Zinc, No Mucuna Pruriens, etc.

Then top it off with price that is nearly 3x what even the best testosterone boosters cost, and you’re left with little to no reason to even want to try this product.

Save $50-$80 and go with a product that is a proven winner.  One that comes with known testosterone boosting ingredients, all the dosage levels, high quality, and great market and customer reviews.
