Scientific Studies

The main human study that really showed the testosterone increasing effects of Mucuna Pruriens was this this one. This was a study of a combination of fertile men and infertile men, and as part of the study, they were each given 5g of Mucuna Pruriens for a 90-day period of time. 

The results of the study showed that testosterone levels increased in the group of infertile men by 38%. It also showed that luteinizing hormone, which is a precursor to increased testosterone, was increased by 41% in this same group.

In the group of healthy non-infertile men, the results were also positive. This group showed an increase in testosterone levels by 27% and it also showed their LH levels increase by 23%.​

In this study of 180 infertile men, they were also given Mucuna Pruriens, and as far as their testosterone levels are concerned, they showed the exact same increase of 38% as the other study above.​

Finally, in another study of 32 men, they were given 600 mg of L-Dopa, and the study stated: "There were statistically significant differences (increases) in the change in free testosterone level"
